29/04/2024

BIMBox has been appointed by Morgan Sindall Construction as the Information Manager for the MKUH Oak Wards expansion for the Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The facility is to be a significant addition to the existing Milton Keynes University Hospital building and will feature the creation of two wards over two storeys on the site of the existing car park, with a linking corridor into the existing hospital block.

BIMBox will be leading the project’s digital implementation, ensuring compliance with ISO 19650 standards and utilising Viewpoint as the Common Data Environment (CDE) to capture key project information and increase confidence. At this current stage, BIMBox has facilitated enhanced Information Management across all five disciplines (Architecture, structure, Civils, Combined MEP and Landscape), ensuring consistency and accuracy in data and adherence to the government’s Construction 2025 strategy.

As the models are being progressively developed at this stage, BIMBox has provided support with the provision of a project-specific template to populate all model information. Additionally, BIMBox issued MVD and shared parameter files to the project teams to ensure that the information was accurately populated with the Design Teams’ models. The consistency of data across the various disciplines, as well as the successful federation of models, has supported the teams to ensure coordination before being built on-site.

BIMBox’s provision of technical support sessions and tailored resources have empowered the Design Teams to navigate challenges effectively, ensuring the seamless integration of Asset Information Requirements. BIMBox’s proactive engagement in participating with the Design Teams has enhanced the Asset Information Requirements to fit the project-specific requirements.
